Where Should You Recover After Surgery?

Recovering in the Hospital

For major surgery, or when the doctor recommends close monitoring, you'll typically need to recover in the hospital until the doctor assesses that it's safe to be discharged.

Recovering at a Hotel or Nearby Accommodation

For less complex procedures, some patients choose to recover at a hotel or accommodation near the facility, for the convenience of returning easily for follow-up checks.

What to Prepare for Recovery

Ask the doctor about post-surgery restrictions — how many days to avoid long-distance travel, whether you need a caregiver nearby, and whether a follow-up appointment is scheduled before you return to Laos.

The content above is general information for basic preparation, not binding medical advice, immigration law, or insurance policy terms. Please verify the details with the relevant facility, immigration checkpoint, or your insurance company again before you travel.
